PlayStation Store Error

I am an avid gamer and I absolutely love my PlayStation 3. I know Xbox 360 users will disagree but I believe Sony PlayStation is the best gaming system out today.

Recently there was an update to the PlayStation Store which implemented a beautiful new layout but ever since that update many users like myself can no longer make purchases via the Sony PlayStation Store.

I am pulling out my hair over this error and it needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

Sony PlayStation Store Error

This PlayStation Store error has been happening since 11/17/2012 for a lot of PlayStation users. I am beginning to be displeased because I cannot download anything from the PlayStation Store, not even the free stuff as a PlayStation Plus member. I load up my cart with the games and downloads I want but when I go to confirm purchase after a few seconds it shows the error pictured.

I then researched the error and to my surprise I am not the only one this is happening to. There are thousands of other users with the same issue. Many others like myself first believed it was a problem with incorrect credit or debit information but that is not the case because I can still use my credit card to add funds to my PlayStation wallet and I can also still make and confirm purchases on my PlayStation Vita. The Sony PlayStation Forum is being flooded with angry users who have made purchases and cannot download their games. I have not gone that far as of yet but it is possible if they don't get it fixed soon.

How do you feel about Sony PlayStation's Customer Service?

Sony is set to schedule maintenance on December 3, 2012. I hope they will be resolving this purchase error. If they do not there will be a lot of angry posting their thoughts on the Sony PlayStation message board and in the forums. Sony has currently been telling users that they are aware of the issue and working on a solution.

How to fix the PlayStation Shopping Cart Error

The fix was relatively simple and a Sony tech was able to walk me through the fix fairly easily. The first thing you need to do is go to the PlayStation Store icon on the XMB bar and delete the PlayStation Store. Once you delete the PlayStation Store you will then try to open the store. It will automatically download and update itself to the latest version. After that you will have to go into your shopping cart and empty all contents of the shopping cart if you have any. Once that is done you need to exit the PlayStation Store and delete it one more time. Next you should reboot your internet service to ensure of no corruption. No re-enter the PlayStation Store and your new shopping cart should be fully functional again. Have fun downloading new games and apps!
